Search Engine Optimization (SEO) can be divided into two main parts. They are: on page optimization and off page optimization. On page SEO mainly focuses on the content of the site. This helps in improving the quality of a web site which makes it search friendly. On the other hand when it comes to the listings on the Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs), major search engines look for links from trustworthy sites to rank up on the top positions. Building external links pointing to our web site is referred as off page optimization. A large number of good links gives a perfect base for a web site in context to SEO. The higher the number of better links, the site gets higher page rank. This always boosts the position of a site on SERPs.
